2 Hours, 1 Place, thirty silver gelatin photographs, 5x8'' each, 2011
2 Hours, 1
Place is a
photographic project that I carried out following the huge commercial success
in Montréal, Canada of the brand of Canada Goose coats. Being sold under the
guise of being the hottest on the market, these coats are entirely comprised of
coyote fur and duck feathers. In the area around the University of Quebec at
Montreal, I approached thirty pedestrians in two hours that proudly wore these
coats and agreed to appear behind the huge logo that has become immensely
popular over the past few years. When reflecting upon these images during the
photographic process, I began to
interpret these people as soldiers of consumption.
